Prep Roundup: Live Oak netters top Lindhurst
Paulina Heredia had nine kills and Bibi Alejo added six kills and three aces to lift the Live Oak High volleyball team to a straight-set 25-13, 25-13, 25-6 victory at Lindhurst on Thursday.
Claudia Sandoval and Monica Curiel each had three kills and Curiel notched two aces for the Lions (4-4) in the win.
No scoring details were reported for Lindhurst.
Wheatland 3, Marysville 2
Danielle Ferrari tallied 11 digs, five assists, five aces and three kills, but it wasn't enough for the Indians to get a victory over the Pirates at home.
Wheatland won 25-22, 25-21, 18-25, 24-26, 18-16.
Dominique Leatherman finished with five kills, two digs and an assist and Marissa Clavelle added five blocks, four digs, four kills and two assists in the loss for Marysville (3-3).
Wheatland's junior varsity team won 22-25, 25-19, 15-10. Mackensey Pike and Marmar Terriquez each had four aces and Morgan Cowan-Fayter had two kills for Marysville (2-3).

Country Day 3, New Life 2
The Crusaders played well before dropping a tight 25-12, 16-25, 24-26, 25-15, 15-9 decision to a strong Sacramento Country Day team on the road.
Kiley DeLozier and Rachel Whitely provided excellent net play and setter MacKenzie Ford also played well for New Life (0-2).
BOYS SOCCER
Yuba City 4, Lincoln 1
Dario Teyes scored two goals and assisted on another to help the Honkers to a home victory over the Fighting Zebras.
Benjamin Anderson assisted on three goals and scored one, while Giovanni Padilla had a goal in the victory.
Jose Chavez had five saves and had help from Rudy Oregel and Daniel Pulido defensively for Yuba City (2-2).
New Life Chr. 3, Paradise Adv. 3
Mikey DeLozier scored two goals and Gary Whiteley added another in the Crusaders' season-opening draw with Paradise Adventist at home. Defensively, Tim Joiner played well for New Life Christian (0-0-1).
Oakmont 6, Marysville 2
Nick Jones and Tanner Mailloux each scored a goal in the Indians' road loss. Four of Oakmont's six goals were headers. Craig Staples played well defensively for Marysville (2-2).
The Indians' junior varsity team won 3-0. Erik Tinoco scored two goals and Ricky Campos scored the other for Marysville (3-1).

Wheatland 8, Sutter 1
No. 1 singles player Alec Tiffany won 6-1, 6-4 to help the Pirates to a road victory over the Huskies.
Thea Kaiser (6-1, 6-2), Kelly Leiva (6-2, 6-3), Norma Harrio (7-5, 6-4), Kayleigh Hulett (6-1, 6-3) and Jamie Borrego (6-1, 6-2) all won their singles matches for Wheatland. In doubles, Wheatland's Tiffany and Kaiser (8-1) and Leiva and Harrio (8-1) earned victories for the Pirates (3-2).
Sutter's Jayna Dodd and Nancy Ramirez (8-5) won in a doubles match for Sutter.
Live Oak 9, Gridley 0
Jennifer De Witt (6-2, 6-0), Fermina Chavez (6-1, 6-2), Kayla Morris (6-0, 6-4), Kayla Morris (6-0, 6-4), Lucero Topete (6-0, 6-1), Jewel Wise (6-0, 6-1) and Andrea Long (6-1, 6-4) all won their singles matches in the sweep for the Lions (5-1, 2-0).
De Witt and Chavez (8-2), Morris and Topete (8-2) and Wise and Crystal Rodriguez (8-1) won their doubles matches.

Shon Ritchie and Megan Evans each had 10 service points and four aces to help the Lions to a home victory.

Omar Herrera scored four touchdowns including a 78-yard scoring run to lift the Honkers to a victory at Lincoln.
Devin Pettingill added an 80-yard touchdown run and tight end Connor Cunningham hauled in three passes in the win. Jake Oakley, Victor Angel and Colin Fergueson each played well defensively for Yuba City (2-0).
Sutter 21, Placer 6
Trenton McDaniel rushed for a 2-yard touchdown and Brad Brolliar had a 4-yard score to help lead the Huskies to the road win. Brad Bonnenfant added a 22-yard rushing score in the fourth quarter for Sutter (2-0).
