Prep Roundup: Falcons roll Tigers, East Nic's Taylor K's 15
Jake Phillips and freshman TJ Dove combined on a one-hitter and the River Valley High baseball team rolled Inderkum 13-1 on the road on Tuesday.
Phillips pitched the first two innings and Dove went the final three after the game was called in five innings due to the 10-run rule.
Phillips was 3 for 4 with two RBIs and Cameron Boomgaarden and Cameron Olson were both 2 for 4.
Alec Gould hit a two-RBI single and Ryan Johnson was 2 for 4 for River Valley (13-7, 7-3).
SOFTBALL
East Nicolaus 13, Los Molinos 1
Amanda Taylor struck out 15 batters and walked just one to lead the Lady Spartans past Los Molinos on the road.
Taylor also went 2 for 2 with a pair of doubles and an RBI, while Alexis Smith went 3 for 3 with a double, a triple and drove in three runs to power East Nicolaus (11-8, 6-0) at the plate.
Sutter 8, Winters 0
Sami Prosser tallied seven strikeouts in the circle and went 3 for 4 with a double in the Butte View League victory on the road.
Sarah Snyder was 2 for 2 and Courtney Gravel hit a double for the Huskies (14-5, 6-1), who face rival Wheatland today.
BASEBALL
East Nicolaus 14, Los Molinos 2
East Nicolaus racked up 10 runs in the fifth and final inning to put away Los Molinos on the road.
Cody Evans and Joel Wilson each went 3 for 4 with a combined four RBIs, while Aaron Cater and Tommy Sleva each drove in a pair of runs.
East Nicolaus (8-4, 5-0) recorded 18 hits, while Sleva and Justin Ozcan allowed just two from the hill.
Winters 5, Sutter 2
Sutter committed three errors and lost a crucial Butte View League game on the road.
Nathan Ahlers and Ben Eisenbarth each went 2 for 3, while Dylan Russell knocked in a run on a double to power the Huskies (13-5, 5-2). Tyler Larsen pitched a complete game for Sutter.
Sutter's JV team won 9-2. Colton Minton was 3 for 4 to lead the now 20- 0 Huskies.
Pierce 13, Williams 3
Joey Hernandez belted a bases-loaded double and pitched a complete game, striking out seven in the process, and Pierce defeated Williams at home.
Hernandez finished 2 for 4 with four RBIs, while Taylor Cabral went 3 for 5 and scored four runs and Hayden Kalfsbeek went 3 for 4 with a pair of RBIs.
Wyatt Croxson also had a nice day at the plate, going 2 for 3 with three RBIs for Pierce (7-10, 1-8).
Faith Chr. 10, Sacramento Country Day 7
Blake Lavin tallied nine strikeouts in three innings and Aiden Greathouse was 2 for 2 with a double and three runs in the home victory for the Lions (3-8, 3-4).
TENNIS
Live Oak 7, Colusa 2
Andrew Avalos picked up a 6-1, 6-0 win in singles and teamed up with Pardeep Cheema to pick up an 8-6 victory to lead the Lions past Colusa on the road.
Parjinder Toor won 7-6, 6-1, Daljot Singh rolled 6-2, 6-2 and Edgar Yanez won in straight sets for Live Oak (8-4, 4-0). Live Oak also earned two wins by forfeit.
Colusa's two wins came from Tommy Gentile (6-1, 6-1) and Jordan Wilson and Joseph McKean, who won 8-6 in doubles.
Sutter 8, Mercy 1
Michael Munguia won his singles match 6-4, 6-0 and the Huskies took advantage of three forfeits in a nonleague win.
Billy Thompson (6-2, 2-0), Brad Alves (6-0, 6-0) and Cody Sallaberry (6-2, 6-3) also won singles matches for Sutter.
GOLF
Marysville 221, Mesa Verde 287
The Indians put together a nice round at Sierra Pines Golf Course in Roseville to cruise past Mesa Verde.
Dory Karcher led the way with a 41, while Justin Harrison shot a 43, Logan Brown added a 44 and Garrett Brown recorded a 45 for the Indians.

Solano 12, Yuba 0
Solano 10, Yuba 0
The 49ers were one-hit in both games of a doubleheader at home.
Lyndsey Sizemore was 1 for 2 in the first game and Jacki Sizemore was 1 for 2 in the nightcap for Yuba (7-27, 7-17).
