Roundup: A near sweep for Sutter
The Sutter High track and field team claimed a clean sweep of Gridley and Las Plumas late last week.
The varsity boys team defeated Gridley 120-16 and Las Plumas 110-28. The varsity girls team beat Gridley 81-49 and came up just short to Las Plumas, 72-69.
The Gridley JV girls topped Sutter 78-15 and the Sutter JV girls tied Las Plumas 20-20.
The Gridley JV boys defeated Sutter 58-38. Las Plumas topped the Sutter JV boys 94-16.
Dane Turner won the pole vault (almost topping 14-feet, nine inches), the 100 meter, the 4x100 and the long jump.
Bentley Nunes won all three of his events, including the 800, the 1600 and the 3200.
Miles Chesney took first in the 200, 400 and 4x400, while Leszek Rataczjak won both hurdle events and finished second in the high jump. Brittany Tanonglek finished first in the 800 and 1600, while Kelsey Bradley won the triple jump and finished second in the long jump.
