Prep Roundup: Garcia's hat trick powers Colusa
Jessica Garcia pulled off a hat trick with two goals in the first half and one in the second, delivering the Colusa girls soccer team to a 4-0 victory over Willows in Sacramento Valley League action on Thursday.
Katelyn Lorenzini scored the fourth goal for the Redskins (7-1-1, 5-0-1), who haven't lost a league game since Dec. 2007.
Mimi Rinzler, Noemi Padilla, Taylor Herrick and Kaitlyn Mena all played great in at the midfield, according to coach Randy Watt.

Erika Linch, Sarah Snyder and Kate Olson all scored for the Huskies in their sixth Butte View League of the season.
Goalkeeper Sam Foster tallied three saves and recorded her ninth shutout of the season for Sutter (9-2, 6-0). Jenna Lewis had an assist and played well on defense, according to coach Jeffrey Stanhope.

Clarissa Herrera scored both goals and Ivonne Velasquez played well on defense for the Lions (3-3-1, 2-2-1).

The Lions jumped out to a 4-0 lead in the first half and never looked back, coming away with a nonconference win on the road.
Hector Cibrian scored four goals, while Xavier Lopez and Armando Araujo had one a piece for the Lions (12-0-1).
Coach Mike Owen said, Jose Alvarado, Ricardo Silva, Salvador Vargas and Pedro Valencia all made huge contributions on Thursday.

Thomas Gentil scored on a free kick and assisted Ramon Martinez on the Redskins' second goal, but Colusa had to settle for a draw with the Honkers.
Goalkeeper Christian Avila made 18 saves and coach Dan Kiely said Tyler Stirling, Vicente Gutierrez and Diego Valdivia all played well defensively for the Redskins (4-4-2, 1-3).
Wheatland 2, Oroville 0
Mike Jenkins and Caedan Nelson each scored goals for the Pirates (2-6-1, 1-4-1) in the home shutout against the Tigers.
Coach Justin Milami credited Damon Lovely with excellent play on defense.

The Bulldogs' (3-11-1, 2-5) lone goal came from Cristo Garcia on the road.

Jessep MacFarlane scored a team-high 17 points and Kevin Mattos added 13, but the Bulldogs dropped a nonconference game on the road to the Honkers.
Steven Powell chipped in with 12 points and Mat Scott scored 10 for Gridley (6-10).

Destiny Stevenson scored 13 points and Erika Larsen tallied 12 points and 18 rebounds in the overtime, BVL road loss for the Huskies.
