Faith teams, River Valley's Wy advance

The Faith Christian High cross country teams ran their way into this week’s Sac-Joaquin Section Div. V meet in Folsom with top-five finishes in the Sac-Joaquin Section subsection meet at Angels Camp on Saturday.

The girls squad, headed by Hannah Baber’s eighth-place finish in the subsections, was second. The boys team, headed by Bobby Lovell’s 17th-place finish, was fourth.

Baber covered the 3-mile Frogstown course in 25 minutes, 55 seconds. She was followed by teammates Kynsie (12th, 27:16), Faith Phillip (13th, 27:17), Adelaide Baber (14th, 28:40) and Larissa May (16th, 29:38).

Lovell’s time was 21:05. He was followed by teammates Josh Betts (23rd, 2216), Rob Murphy (24th, 22:21), Justin Dunham (26th, 22:25), David Feyh (31st, 25:40), Justin Spence (34th, 28:20) and James Ball (36th, 31:48).

Wy advances to Section

River Valley’s T.J. Wy turned in a fifth-place performance in the Division II race at Angels Camp, running the 3-mile Frogstown course in 16:15 to qualify for this week’s section meet at Folsom.

Other Falcons competitors were Amandeep Singh (74th, 18:31), Josh Dhillon (98th, 1913), Thomas Jacuzzi (123rd, 20:06), Josh Owen (127th, 20:12), Trey Farris (132nd, 20:03) and Dustin Fullmer (159th, 22:24).

On the girls side, Dulce Salazar was 72nd (22:22), followed by Meredith Salazar (73rd, 22:23) and Margaret Loftis (125th, 29:01).

BOYS SOPH CROSS COUNTRY

Sac-Joaquin Subsection

River Valley’s Jesse Singh finished 39th (12:54) over two miles in the Division II race on the Frogstown course in Angels Camp. Hayden Sampley was 71st (13:40) and Justin Brousseau was 82nd (14:03).

JV CROSS COUNTRY

In the 2-mile Division II boys race, River Valley’s Jose Orozco placed 157th (24:55). In Division III-V, Faith Christian’s Kent Pond was 67th (26:40). In the Division II frosh-soph girls race, Vanessa Kennedy placed 56th (16:14) for River Valley.
