Prep Roundup: Live Oak starts off smooth

The Live Oak High girls tennis team defeated River Valley 8-1 at River Valley on Tuesday evening.
In singles, River Valley's Elizabeth Huth won 1-6, 7-5,7-6 against Live Oak's Jennifer De Witt. Fermina Chavez tallied a 6-1, 6-1 win over Alison Jarvis and Kayla Morris won 6-4, 1-1 against Danesa Baker, who defaulted in the final round. Lucero Topete (5-2, default), Jewel Wyse (4-6, 6-1, 7-6) and Andrea Long (6-2, 3-6, 7-6) also won their singles matches for Live Oak (1-0).
In the doubles, Crystal Rodriguez and Wyse defeated River Valley's Allison Sawyer and Navi Mann 8-3 while Jaque Mullen and Chavez won 8-0.
