Justin Estrada shot a 1-under par 35 to lead the Yuba City High golf team to a Tri-County Conference victory over Inderkum at the Haggin Oaks Golf Course in Sacramento on Monday.
Joe Bauer and Donnie Triphan each recorded a 37. John Holloway and Taylor Brown each finished with a 39 for the Honkers (4-1 overall, 3-0 in conference).
River Valley 222, Pioneer 259
Logan Jaks turned in a 40 at River Oaks' par 35 course to help lead the way for the Falcons (5-2, 2-1).
Dustin Bustinbuwal shot a 43, Dietrich Scotten added a 44 and Zach Cross shot a 46 for River Valley. Sean Stellhorn recorded a 49.
Country Day 237, Faith Chr. 252
Nick Maddalena shot a 34 at Haggin Oaks Golf Course, but Faith Christian fell short to Country Day.
Carson Mitchell shot a 44, Lucas Helm carded a 49 and Austin Duggins recorded a 60 for Faith (3-1). Kayle Baker added a 65 and Matt Priddy shot a 67.
BASEBALL
Marysville 11, Gridley 0
Senior Cody Tom went 2-for-3 with a homerun, a double and five RBIs to lead the Indians to a home victory. Mike DePalma had a triple and two RBIs. Blane Huber had two hits and John Coleman hit a triple for Marysville (2-3).
Brian Monzon, Ty Nichols and Josh Garcia each got a hit for the Bulldogs (3-4).
Del Campo 3, River Valley 0
David Martinez went 2-for-3 with a double, while Cameron Pankey and Jamie Bonnenfant each went 1-for-3 in the loss for River Valley (3-1).
The Falcons' JV team (4-0) edged Del Campo 3-2.
Jake Phillips struck out seven and picked up the complete-game win. Robert Hudson had three RBIs and Austin Spencer hit a double.
The River Valley freshmen (1-0) won 14-6 after Cameron Boomgarden went 3-for-4 and scored two runs and Alec Mitchell had two hits and scored two runs.
SOFTBALL
Marysville 5, Gridley 4
The Katlyn Irwin tossed struck out four and allowed four hits through five innings to earn the win for Marysville from the mound. McKenzie Kraus earned the save for the Indians (6-4).
Ashton Welch, Alex Tanner, Asurmendi, Aleah Thomas and Irwin each recorded RBIs.
The Marysville JV team rolled Gridley 20-0. Maddy Harvell finished with 13 strikeouts to propel the Indians to a victory. Anaselia Marin had an in-the-park homerun for Marysville (3-3).
GIRLS SOCCER
Marysville 1, San Juan 0
Mariah Surface scored the lone goal off an assist from Mackenzi Frost in the Golden Empire League opener for the Indians (1-3, 1-0).
Alexandria Doyle was credited for her offensive contribution.
Yuba City 4, Woodland 2
Lexi Guisti scored three goals and added an assist, while Caitlyn Melendez added a goal and an assist for the Honkers (3-0).
Lindhurst 1, Capital Chr. 0
Andrea Beck scored off an assist from Lucero Martinez to propel the Blazers to a GEL win.
Lindhurst coach Jon Klingensmith credited Alex Cook for her midfield play and Guadalupe Herrejon's defensive efforts for the Blazers (2-3, 2-0).
The Lindhurst JV team fell 4-1 to Capital Christian in its first match of the season.
Ocil Herrejon scored in the final 10 minutes for Lindhurst, while Esmeralda Raya added the assist. Yolanda Herrera, Andria Anderson and Valeria Medina were credited with strong games.
BOYS TENNIS
Yuba City 7, Woodland 2
No. 1 singles player Jordan George defeated his opponent 6-3, 3-6, 6-1 to lead the Honkers to a TCC opening home victory.
Riley Secrist (6-1, 6-4), Jordan Friend (5-7, 7-6, 6-3) and Eric Bonick (7-6, 6-0) got singles win for Yuba City.
In doubles play, No. 1 team Erich Kalau and Jordan Wilkinson won 6-3, 2-6, 6-3. Abel Mora and Satvinder Singh (6-3, 6-1) and Toni Uristagi and Jose Lopez (7-6, 6-3) won for the Honkers (4-1, 1-0).
Wheatland 8, Live Oak 1
No. 1 singles player Larry Farinha defeated hit opponent 6-2, 6-1 for the Pirates. Theo Lepeau (6-3, 7-5), Marko Sohrakoff (6-1, 6-3), Steffan Waggman (6-1, 6-3) and Derek Zepp (6-0, 6-4) also got wins.
In doubles play, Farinha and Sohrakoff won 9-7. Lepeau and Cameron Bushling (8-2) and the team of Waggman and Zepp (8-4) got victories for Wheatland (5-1-1).
No. 6 player Sumeet Pamma got the lone win for the Lions.
Willows 7, Sutter 2
Aaron Dodd defeated his opponent 5-7, 7-5, 6-4 in his singles match for Sutter. In doubles, the team of Michael Munguia and Dodd won 8-0 Sutter.

Mason Hart led the Falcons in kills with 15 and added three aces. Cameron Edelbute had seven kills while Max Mathews recorded 27 assists for River Valley (2-0).
