Del Rio in, out of Division II bracket

Former Gridley High basketball standout Efren Del Rio recently finished his junior season at Humboldt State with a loss in the opening round of the NCAA Division II tournament.
The Lumberjacks fell, 68-60, to Chaminade University in the Western Regionals.
Del Rio came off the bench every game to average nearly three points, one assist and one steal.
He could play a much larger role on the team next season as Humboldt State will lose four of its seven guards to graduation this year.
Del Rio was the Appeal-Democrat Player of the Year for the 2004-05 season.
