R.V., Faith prepare for postseason
River Valley and Faith Christian High's boys soccer teams have each qualified for the Sac-Joaquin Section playoffs after the section released its postseason brackets on Tuesday.
The Falcons finished the regular season at 5-4-2 overall and took second in the Tri-County Conference with a 5-3-2 record. They will open the Division III bracket when they play at home at 6 p.m. on Thursday against Center.
The Cougars (9-8-2) finished third in the Pioneer Valley League with a record of 6-1-3. The winner of the game will play at Capital Athletic League champion El Camino (14-3-4) on Tuesday.
Faith Christian will play at Central California Athletic Alliance champion Millenium Christian (17-4) in the Division VII opener at 3 p.m. on Thursday.
The Lions finished their regular season campaign with a 12-4-2 overall record while finishing second in Sacramento Metropolitan Athletic League play with a 4-2 record. The Lions split matches with Millenium this season.
