Prep Roundup: Sutter baseball keeps on rolling
Morgan Osgood went 3 for 4 with a pair of doubles and seven RBIs and the Sutter High baseball team exploded for 12 runs in the third inning to pick up an easy 18-0 Butte View League victory at Orland on Friday.
The game was called after five innings due to the 10-run rule.
Nathan Ahlers went 4 for 5 with a double and three RBIs, Dylan Russell was 3 for 4 and drove in two runs and Ben Eisenbarth, Lucas Hensley, Quentin Hick and Tyler Larsen smacked two hits each to lead the way for Sutter (11-2, 5-1).
The Huskies' JV team also won 10-0 to remain undefeated on the season.
Hayden Heilman went 3 for 4 with a double, triple and three RBIs, Seth Landers was 2 for 4 with a double and Colton Minton went 3 for 3 and pitched a shutout to lead Sutter (18-0, 6-0).
River Valley 13, Natomas 2
Cameron Boomgaarden went 3 for 5 with a double and three RBIs and the Falcons finished off a three-game sweep over Tri-County Conference foe Natomas.
Colin Gault was 2 for 4 and Greg Cannon went 2 for 5 with a double and two RBIs to lead the way for River Valley (9-6, 6-3).
Hamilton 5, East Nicolaus 4
Five errors proved to be the undoing for the Spartans, who outhit the Braves 14-3 but lost in 10 innings.
Tylor Souza was 2 for 6 with three RBIs and Joel Wilson and Mike Zimmerman were both 3 for 6 for the Spartans (6-3, 3-1).

Dylan MacPherson captured both wins on the hill as the Redskins squeaked out a doubleheader sweep at home.
Tyler Martin and Luke Corriea were both 2 for 4 in game one and Kyle Cervantes went 3 for 4 with three RBIs in game two for the Redskins (8-7, 5-3).

Brian Carr and Kevin Hicks were both 2 for 4 with two RBIs in the home loss for the Wolverines (7-4, 1-3).

River Valley 5, Woodland 1
The Falcons scored all five of their runs in the sixth inning to earn a TCC win at Woodland.
Shelby Carpenter went 2 for 4, Kaitlin Carpenter smacked a two-run double and Nicole Robinson hit a triple in the win for the Falcons (10-2, 5-1).
Biggs 6, Portola 4
Baylee Yuponce notched two RBIs and Darci Roles and Callie Roles both picked up a RBI in the home victory over the Tigers (4-5, 2-2).
WOODCREEK TOURNAMENT
Wheatland 6, Casa Roble 5
KC Silva connected for a two-run homer and Talia Rios went 3 for 4 to help lead the Pirates to a victory on the first day of the Stephanie LeDoux Tournament in Roseville.
Randi May went 2 for 3 with two RBIs as well for Wheatland.
Woodcreek 7, Wheatland 5
Mikayla McLanahan smacked a three-run homer, but the Pirates committed six errors in a single inning and fell to host Woodcreek.
Talia Rios was 2 for 4 and Maggie Ulman went 2 for 3 in the loss for Wheatland (13-7), which plays Granite Bay today at 11 a.m.

Redskins pitcher Tiffany Friel tallied 19 stikeouts and surreundered just three hits during the course of the home doubleheader sweep.
Sophia Garcia was 3 for 4 with six RBIs in the pair of five-inning mercy rule wins. Friel went 2 for 4 with an RBI in game one and Andee Clare was 2 for 2 with three RBIs in game two.

Tressa Arostegui was 2 for 3 and pitched two innings of shutout ball to lead the Indians to a five-inning victory over the Cougars in Sacramento.
Danielle Ferrari was 2 for 3 and Taylor Ferrari was 2 for 2 for the Indians, who belted 12 hits and host Dixon on Tuesday in a matchup with league title implications.

Goalie Juanita Rivera played well in goal and Brandi Mascorro was solid on defense, but the Blazers (2-6-2, 2-4-2) fell on the road in a close Golden Empire League contest.

The Lions (6-4) won all their matches in straight sets, picking up a nonconference victory over their Highway 99 rival.
Daljot Singh won 6-1, 6-0 in No. 1 singles for Live Oak. Also picking up singles wins were Edgar Yanez (6-1, 7-5), Manvir Chahal (6-1, 6-0), Junaid Abid (6-1, 6-0) and Jesus Medina (6-2, 6-2).
Chahal and Abid teamed for an 8-2 victory in doubles. Other doubles winners were Enrique Taitt and Gerardo Bermudez (8-4).
Pioneer 7, Yuba City 2
Jared Seamons won his singles match (6-2, 3-6, 10-7) and Andrew Markus prevailed 6-4, 6-0 to score the lone points in the home loss for the Honkers (1-12, 1-9).

Andrea Hazel went a perfect 3 for 3 with a double and four RBIs and Maria LaBouyer was 3 for 4 with a double and drove in a pair of runs to lift the Honkers to a TCC won over Natomas.
Sarah Sakurada was 2 for 3 with two RBIs and Jordan Thompson was 2 for 3 and tossed a two-hitter for Yuba City (13-4, 4-2).

Darian Orosco won his singles match 6-2, 7-6 and the Falcons rolled to an easy victory over their rival.
Ricky Dhaliwal (6-2, 6-3), Zorfraz Khan (6-1, 6-2), Rahman Tubusm (7-5, 6-1) and Keith Leung (7-5, 6-4) also won singles matches for the Falcons, who also fared well in doubles play.

Indians fare well in Sac
Stephanie Anderson won the 100-meter low hurdles (19.47), 300 hurdles (55.1) and was second in the 100 (15.0) at Marysville's dual meet against Capital Christian.
Freshman Brandi Danner took first in the 3200 (19:21.0) and Jasmine Fletcher won the 800 (2:56.0) and 1600 (6:11.0) for the Indians' girls team.
Freshman Taylor Zaytsow led the way in varsity boys competition by placing first in the 400 (55.5), 1600 (5:24.0) and 3200 (12:50.0). Sophomore Cole Hannum won the 200 (25.1) and took second in the 100 (12.5).
Marysville's frosh-soph boys team won 86-0.
Neil Lingenfelter won the 400 (1:03.16), long jump (14-2) and ran the anchor leg on the winning 400 relay team. Anthony Vega won the 800 (2:42.0) and 1600 (5:44.0) and ran on the winning 1600 relay team, and Dante Shaver won the 100 (13.5), 200 (26.4) while running on the winning 400 relay team.
