Prep Roundup: Pierce boys picks up win
Raul Cardenas was hit by a pitch in the bottom of the sixth to force in the go-ahead run, lifting the Pierce baseball team to a 4-3 victory over Lower Lake at home on Monday.
Taylor Cabral and Cardenas were solid on the mound, while Chaz Benton drove in two RBIs for Pierce (6-10).

Falcons, Honkers compete in Chico
River Valley and Yuba City High's track programs competed in the West Valley/Chico Invitational at Chico State on Saturday along with more than 30 other schools.
The Honkers boys team placed 9th led by a standout performance from senior Bernell Barmore, who placed first in the 110-meter high hurdles (14.72 seconds) and 300-meter hurdles (41.50). He placed second in the triple jump (44 feet, 6.75 inches).
For the River Valley girls, the 4x100 relay team of Kym Crosby, Courtney Haight, Fenny Descuatan and Vanessa Kennedy placed second with a season-best time of 53.94 seconds.
Crosby finished second in both the 400-meter (58.47 seconds) and 200 (25.98), despite running her best times of the season.
McQueen High ended up winning the meet in both the boys and girls divisions.
River Valley and Yuba City will take part in a Tri-County Conference duel meet on May 4.
