Sutter's Moore signs with Oregon
Comments 0 | Recommend 0All of Jessica Moore's hard work paid off on Wednesday when the Sutter High pitching star signed a national letter of intent to play for the University of Oregon softball team.
"I thought of all the years I worked really hard and put off everything with my friends," Moore said of her feelings as the pen touched paper. "That I made it this far and made it to a Pac-10 school."
The Husky hurler tallied incredible numbers in her junior season and earned the Northern Section MVP award. In 166.2 innings pitched, Moore struck out 384 batters while holding them to a .077 batting average with a .336 ERA. And if it wasn't enough, Moore was a beast at the plate with a .483 batting average.
Her stellar effort put her on the radar of other Pac-10 schools like UCLA and Stanford and even Big-10 schools like Northwestern, she said. But it was the allure of Oregon's campus in Eugene that sold the standout.
