Huskies fall 18-7

Four turnovers came back to haunt the Sutter High football team in an 18-7 loss at Bethel High of Vallejo Saturday night in both teams' season opener.

The Huskies fell behind 12-0 at the half before a 30-yard touchdown run by Justin Gildemeister cut Bethel's lead to 12-7 in the fourth quarter. However, the Jaguars answered the touchdown with one of their own and held on to pick up the victory.

The Huskies won the junior varsity game 36-6.

Nathan Ahlers scored on touchdown runs of 12 and 68 yards and Mat Sanders added a 53-yard touchdown and a 2-yard score for Sutter in the win.

Forrest Smith had a 9-yard TD run, while Josh Hansel recovered a fumble and Parker Schenken intercepted a pass to lead the Huskies' defense.
