Roundup: RV golf rolls to win
The River Valley High golf team remained unbeaten on the young season by beating both Colusa and Pierce at the Arbuckle Golf Course on Wednesday.
Dustin Buwal carded a 44 to lead the Falcons, wich posted a scored of 244 on the afternoon. Colusa finished second at 291 and Pierce ended with a score of 305.
Logan Jaks shot a 46 and Dietrich Scotten ended with a 49 for River Valley (3-0).
Colusa's Armando Rangel and Pierce's Matthew Vaughn shot a 55.
Rocklin 206, Yuba City 211
Justin Estrada fired a 38, but the Honkers fell to Rocklin at Peach Tree Golf & Country Club.
Joe Bauer shot a 40, Taylor Brown carded a 42, John Halloway was at 45 and Donnie Triphan finished with a 46 for Yuba City.
BOYS TENNIS
Wheatland 4, River Valley 4
The Pirates and the Falcons played to a draw in a match that was called early on account of rain.
River Valley got singles victories from Kristen Rzemeiniak (6-1, 6-1), Alex Estrada (5-7, 6-4, 10-1), Zahir Mirzada (6-4, 2-6, 10-7) and Darian Orozco (6-2, 6-3, 6-7).
Larry Farinha (6-2, 6-4) and Derek Zepp (4-6, 6-3, 7-6) won for Wheatland.
In doubles play, Theo Lepeau and Farinha (8-3) and Aaron Coe and Anthony Harmon (8-3) were victorious for the Pirates.
Oroville 5, Sutter 4
Cameron Alemeida (6-3, 6-4) and Shelby Arveizu (6-2, 6-4) both earned singles wins in Sutter's loss to Oroville.
In doubles play, Alemeida and Kody Sallaberry (8-4) and Zach Miller and Areizu (8-4) each won for the Huskies (0-1).
TRACK & FIELD
Feddersen wins two events
Marysville's Sarah Feddersen placed first in the 3200 meter race with a time of 13 minutes and 24 seconds and won the pole vault with a distance of seven feet at the Honker Invitational in Yuba City.
Jasmine Alston, Alana Grove, Alexis Grove and Stephanie Anderson finished second in the 400 meter relay. Anderson also placed third in the 100 hurdles (20.29).
Alexis Grove finished third in the triple jump (28-8) and the 200 meter (29.9).
Karndeep Johl finished third in the 200 for the Marysville boys.
Maz Khan won the long jump (17-2) and Anthony Oller placed fourth in the discus (63-0.5) in junior varsity competition.
