Let the track season begin
The Honker Mini-Invite kicked off the track and field season in the Mid-Valley on Wednesday.
And to no surprise Yuba City's Bernell Barmore, and River Valley's Luis Zuniga and Kym Crosby stole the show.
Barmore took first in the 110 hurdles with a time of 16.04, first in the 200 (24.86) and second in the 100 (11.85), finishing just behind River Valley's Brandon Wolouka (11.80).
Zuniga took first in the 1600 (5:07.95) and the 800 (2:18.02).
The Honkers' Jo an Fernandez took first in the 3200 (10:50.88). Yuba City's Alex Nisperos placed first in the shot put (41 feet), while teammate Victor Ly took first in the discus with a distance of 103-5. Yuba City also took first in the 4x100 relay and 4x400 relay.
On the girls' side, Crosby raced out to record a 13.36 in the 100, and then also finished first in the 200 (27.75).
River Valley's Vanessa Kennedy took first in the 110 hurdles (18.59), while the team took first in the 4x100 relay.
Yuba City's Wonwyne Hale finished first in the discus (80-11), while teammate Jessica Soto won the 800 (2:51.69).
Marysville's Jasmine Fletcher finished first in the 1600 (6:16.16), while Indians teammate Danielle Perrin took first in shot put (29-11).
