Razzada, Hamill lead YC cross country in Hayward
Comments 0 | Recommend 0Rashad Razzada paced the Yuba City High cross country team at the 25th annual Moreau Mariner Saucony Invitational at Garin Park in Hayward on Saturday.
In a field of 209 runners, Razzada (18:49) finished 58th in the varsity boys large school 5K race. The Honkers placed 26th overall.
Luis Zuniga (20:21) finished 100th, Satvir Bains (20:46) placed seven spots back of him and Harjit Sungh (21:24) finished 121st.
Also for the varsity boys were Shane Johnson (21:40, 125), Marquis Young (22:39, 133) and Satwinder Singh (23:07, 136).
Zach Casteneda led all Honkers with a 13:32 time to finish 55th in the junior-senior race (2.1 miles), while teammate Mario Johnson (14:28) finished 79th, Kyle Murray (15:09) placed 98th and Gagneet Singh (15:43) followed just behind. The Honkers placed 10th as a team in the field of 128 runners.
Trevor Hammill led the frosh-soph boys race with a 14th-place finish. Hamill completed the 2.1 mile course in 12:06. Elias Adame was 53rd and Patrick de los Santos was 54th to help led the Honkers to an 8th-place finish overall as a team in the field of 129 runners.
Jasmine Visla led the varsity girls with a time of 17:42 for 65th, while teammate Emily Wolverton finished 84th with a 19:36 in a field of 93 runners.
Liliana Pinedo led the frosh-soph girls race with a time of 16:49, while teammate Baljot Dhoot finished with a 17:43.
