Prep Roundup: Colusa's Friel tosses no-hitter

Colusa 15, Chester 0
Tiffany Friel tossed a no-hitter in game one and followed that up with a two-hit shutout in game two to lead the Redskins to a pair of wins at the Hamilton City Tournament.
Friel struck out 15 and walked three while throwing a no-hitter against Hamilton and the Redskins won despite tallying just three hits in the game.
In game two, they came to life by belting out 14 hits in a five-inning win over Chester.
Ashleigh Biggs went 3 for 4 with a home run, double and four RBIs and Rylee Kampf went 4 for 4 with two RBIs to help the cause for Colusa (13-2-1). Taylor Herrick was 2 for 3 with a double, Katie Mobley went 2 for 3 and scored twice and Friel finished with nine strikeouts in the win.
BASEBALL
Sutter 10, Colusa 6
The Huskies scored seven runs in the bottom of the sixth inning to pick up a victory over the Redskins in a make-up game at the Oroville Tournament.
Dylan Russell went 2 for 4 with a pair of triples and drove in two runs and Ben Eisenbarth was 3 for 3 with two RBIs to lead the way for Sutter, which collected 14 hits in the game.
Nathan Ahlers went 2 for 3 with a double and Tyler Larsen and Brandon Ahlers added two hits apiece in the win for the Huskies (6-2).
Jacob Wright was 3 for 4 with three doubles and Connor Herrick doubled as well for Colusa (4-4).
Sutter 7, Anderson 5
Russell threw 6 2/3 effective innings to earn the win, Morgan Osgood hit a three-run double and Weston Childers delivered two RBIs to lead the Huskies to a win in the first game of the day.

Connor Herrick had the Redskins' lone hit in the loss to Anderson.
TRACK & FIELD
Wheatland's Seward takes first
Wheatland High's Derick Seward had a strong showing at the Thunder Invitational in Rocklin by taking first in the 200-meter sprint in a time of 22.16 seconds.
Seward also took second in the 100 with a time of 11.04 and teammate Trevor Crain placed third in the discus with a throw of 138 feet, 11 inches.
JV BASEBALL
Sutter 21 Colusa 2
Hayden Heilman went 3 for 5 with a home run, triple and six RBIs to lead the Huskies to a win over the Redskins in the first game of a doubleheader.
Franklin Tarke finished 4 for 4 with a pair of doubles and four RBIs and Kyle Wheeler was 3 for 4 with a double in the win.
Sutter 8, Colusa 4
Trenton McDaniel went 2 for 3 with a triple and a pair of RBIs and Brad Bonnenfant struck out 10 in four innings of work to earn the win as Sutter took the second game of the doubleheader.
With the victory, the Huskies improved to a perfect 13-0 on the year.

Marysville girls roll Lindhurst
The Indians rolled the Blazers 115-9 in a Golden Empire League meet at home.
Stephanie Anderson led the Indians by winning the 100 meters (13.5), 110 hurdles (18.6), 300 hurdles (56.3) and anchoring the winning 400-relay team (51.9).
Freshman Holly Tarr won the 400 (1:11) and long jump (10-10) and Danielle Perrin won the shot put (27-9) and the discus (87-2).
The Indians varsity boys team fell 81-47. Cole Hannum won the 100 (11.7) and 200 (24.2) and Trevor Knudson won the pole vault (7-0). Adam Anderson won the high jump (5-4).
The Indians JV boys team won 64-58. Anthony Vega won the 1600 (5:50) and the 800 (24.2) and Neil Lingenfelter won the 200 (25.3) and triple jump (32-2).
