LITTLE LEAGUE: All-Star softball tournaments under way

Sallyann Williamson went 2 for 3 with an RBI at the plate and Samantha Fratis picked up the win from the circle as North Yuba beat Olivehurst-Linda 7-3 during District 2 Little League major softball All-Star play at Peach Bowl Little League in Yuba City on Saturday night.

Fratis struck out five and allowed three runs over six innings and Annie Christopherson added an RBI single in the win for North Yuba.

Maya Garcia went 3 for 3 with an RBI and Haylie Hruska was 2 for 4 and drove in a pair of runs to lead the way for Olivehurst-Linda. Garcia also struck out 10 in five innings.

Westside 5, Wheatland 4

Maddie Miller went 3 for 4 and scored twice and Giselle Hernandez added two hits and an RBI to lead Westside past Wheatland on Saturday.

Lizzy Diaz struck out seven and allowed four hits in a complete-game effort to record the win.

Gabrielle Webb went 2 for 3 with a pair of RBIs to lead the way for Wheatland.

Peach Bowl 14, South Shore 4

Markee Hale went 2 for 2 with a double and two RBIs and Alyssa Vasquez finished 2 for 5 with two runs scored and an RBI to help lead Peach Bowl past South Shore on Friday night.

Tatum Shippen picked up the win by allowing four hits and striking out six and Kendra Coggins, Majestee Kelley and Jaaly Schommer added RBI singles for Peach Bowl.

Sutter Area 8, Colusa 0

Katie Anderson went 2 for 3 with three RBIs and Julia Tarke went 2 for 4 with two RBIs and two runs scored to lead Sutter Area past Colusa in the tournament opener on Friday night.

Bailey Mitten singled and scored a pair of runs, and Anderson and Chloey Bell combined to strike out eight in a two-hit shutout for Peach Bowl.

Josie Garafalo and Ashley Huff notched the lone hits for Colusa.

MINOR SOFTBALL

Sutter Area 14, Marysville 4

Kylee LeCour went 2 for 3 and scored three runs and Reagan Ford fanned eight batters over four innings to help lift Sutter Area past Marysville on Saturday in Wheatland.

Stephanie Bartlemay went 2 for 4 with an RBI and two runs scored and Madison Burton finished 2 for 2 with two RBIs in the win for Sutter Area.

Marissa Solario went 2 for 2 with two RBIs and Josie Rapp singled and scored twice to provide the offense for Marysville.

Peach Bowl 7, Wheatland 3

Blake Craft struck out 15 while tossing a one-hitter and went 2 for 4 with a triple and an RBI at the plate to power Peach Bowl past host Wheatland on Saturday.

Emma McConville went 2 for 4 with an RBI as well for Peach Bowl.

Tatum McClanahan had the lone hit and Ryleigh Webb struck out 12 batters for Wheatland.
