LITTLE LEAGUE: Colusa majors knock out Sutter Area

The Colusa major baseball All-Star team routed Sutter Area 14-4 on Sunday at Perry Field to avoid elimination at the District 2 tournament.

Sutter Area was eliminated from tournament play.

Timmy English and Zack Dillar both went 5 for 5 for Colusa and each of them scored three runs. Dillar added an RBI.

Riley Dollins was 4 for 4 with two home runs for Sutter Area.

JUNIOR BASEBALL

Marysville 15, Colusa 10

Marysville scored 11 runs in the first inning and cruised to a victory, eliminating Colusa from the District 2 tournament at Marysville High on Sunday.

Seth Echevarria, Riley Terpelle, David Duncan, Logan Wurm, Kyle Marshall, Parker Sanchez and Thomas Kenny all had multiple hits for Marysville.

Terpelle, Echevarria and Duncan all drove in two runs apiece.

Shane Saso was 2 for 3 with two RBIs for Colusa.

Colusa 13, Kelseyville 7

Hunter Mobley went 4 for 5 with five RBIs to lead Colusa past Kelseyville on Saturday.

Rigo Santana was 3 for 5 with three runs and three RBIs. Garrett Hamilton went 2 for 5 with an RBI and two runs scored.

Wheatland 5, Marysville 3

Wheatland stayed undefeated in tournament play with a victory over Marysville on Friday.

Zachary Bodey and Camron Butler each went 2 for 3 for Wheatland. Bodey drove in a couple of runs and Butler had an RBI.

Bryan Bills pitched five innings with five strikeouts to pick up the win.

Duncan, Terpelle and Chulo Rodriguez each had an RBI for Marysville.

Marysville 13 Colusa 3

Wurm drove in four runs for Marysville in Thursday's victory.

He was 3 for 4 with two runs scored and Echevarria was 3 for 4 with two RBIs.

Mobley, Peyton Schmidt and John Barrow all picked up RBIs for Colusa.

MINOR BASEBALL

Marysville 9, Peach Bowl 6

Marysville pounded out 14 hits and overcame a one-run deficit with five runs in the top of the sixth inning to earn the victory at the District 2 tournament at Sutter Buttes on Saturday.

Luke Afato, Sammy Stoner and Drew Bradbury each had three hits for Marysville.

Rex Rollins was 2 for 4 with a double and Daylon Luttuca tripled for Marysville.

Brennan White and Ray Kelly III each scored two runs for Peach Bowl.

Sutter Buttes 16, North Yuba 6

Sutter Buttes lit up the scoreboard with 17 hits and an eight-run first inning to thump North Yuba on Saturday.

Ayden Gould was 3 for 4, Nick Daniels went 2 for 4 and both Ryan Jelavich and Aidan Popp were 2 for 2 for Sutter Buttes.

Devin Lake went 3 for 3 and Gunner Pomeroy was 2 for 2 for North Yuba.

Peach Bowl 13, Olivehurst-Linda 3

Peach Bowl scored in every inning en route to a mercy-rule win over O-L on Friday.

Kelly was 3 for 3 with a triple, while Nickolas Enebrad went 2 for 2 with two runs.

Alec Engelhardt, T.J. Kinnard and Andrew Copeland all doubled for Peach Bowl.

Randy Mitchell doubled for O-L and Chance Diemer was 2 for 3.

Sutter Area 9, Colusa 8

Tanner Brown was 2 for 2 with a triple in Sutter Area's victory on Friday.

Alec Bell also tripled and Matt Biggins was 2 for 2 for Sutter Area.

Leo Guzman went 2 for 4 with a run for Colusa. Cody Free doubled.
