LITTLE LEAGUE: Marysville girls rally past Sutter Buttes

Tori Page hit the game-winning single in the bottom of the fifth inning to propel the Marysville Angels to a 9-8 walk-off victory over the Sutter Buttes Riptide during District 2 Little League minor softball Tournament of Champions play on Saturday night in Wheatland.

The win propelled Marysville into Sunday's championship game against the Olivehurst-Linda Heat.

Sophie Afato went 2 for 3 with a home run, two RBIs and two runs scored and Marissa Solario hit a two-run homer in Saturday's win for Marysville. Page also finished with a pair of RBIs.

Sutter Buttes scored two runs in the top of the fifth to take an 8-6 lead, but Marysville answered with three runs in the bottom half of the inning to pull off the come-from-behind victory.

Afato struck out five over four innings in a solid pitching effort for the Angles. Haleigh Washburn struck out two in the fifth to record the win.


Colusa 12, West Side 9

Zach Dillard, Alec Bailey and Ben Davies each hit doubles to power the Colusa Braves past the West Side Indians in major baseball TOC play in Browns Valley on Saturday.

Dillard finished with two RBIs and combined on the hill with Bailey, Trevor Mendenhall, Ethan Remmers and Ben Davis for the win.

Bryce Alonso, Dutch Kalfsbeek and Jacob Amsler hit a double each and Alex Richens tripled in the loss for West Side.
