LITTLE LEAGUE: Sutter Buttes major softball advances

The Sutter Buttes Little League major softball all-star team edged Peach Bowl 9-8 at Peach Bowl's homefield in Yuba City on Sunday.

Phoebe Topete went 2 for 3 with a pair of RBIs and two runs scored to lead Sutter Buttes, while teammate Monique Villavicincio went 2 for 3 with an RBI.

Kyrie Combo went 1 for 2 with three RBIs and a run scored.

Peach Bowl was led by Kendra Coggins, who went 3 for 4 with a double and five RBIs.

Peach Bowl's Briana Pope and Alyssa Vasquez each had a pair of hits with a run scored. Vasquez also knocked in a run, while teammate Markee Hale went 2 for 2 with two runs scored. Dannika Day hit a double and scored a run.

Sutter Area 9, Marysville 1

Sydnee Condrey and Sam Anderson helped power Sutter Area past Marysville at Peach Bowl.

Counrey went 3 for 3 with a pair of RBIs and runs scored and Anderson went 3 for 4 with two RBIs and two runs scored.

Katie Anderson allowed just one run and earned the win for Sutter Area from the circle. She also went 2 for 4 with two runs scored, while Julia Tarke and Bailey Minton each recorded a hit. Tarke scored and Minton drove in a run.

Annie Rollins went 2 for 3 for Marysville.

MINOR SOFTBALL

Colusa 15, Sutter Buttes 7

Theresa Mitchum went 2 for 5 with a triple, four RBIs and two runs scored to help lift Colusa over Sutter Buttes in Wheatland.

Helena Harris hit a double, scored four runs and drove in two runs, while also striking out eight over four innings in the victory.

Sutter Buttes was led by Darcy Gillen and Raina Hudson, each of whom went 2 for 4 with an RBI and a run scored. Gillen hit a triple and Hudson laced a double.

Olivehurst-Linda 19, Westside 4

Danika Martin struck out nine, walked just two and allowed one hit to lead Olivehurst-Linda past Westside.

Brooke Mayo went 2 for 5 with a pair of RBIs and runs scored, while teammate Alex Wofford went 1 for 2 with three RBIs and a run scored.

Westside was led by Ariana Garcia, who finished 1 for 2 with two RBIs and a run scored.
