PREP ROUNDUP: Lindhurst beats Division-I Elk Grove
New Life boys rout Lutheran
Miguel French and James Trujillo each scored 12 points and Lindhurst High topped Division-I Elk Grove 56-45 in the first round of the Running with the Pack boys basketball Tournament at Cosumnes Oaks High in Elk Grove on Thursday.
Jarrade Davis added 10 points, Devin Ward chipped in eight and Justin Williams pulled down eight rebounds. Cedrick Thomas dished five assists and had five rebounds to help Lindhurst improve to 6-2.
Lindhurst will play Buhach Colony today at 6:30 p.m. in the second round.
GEORGIA RACZNIAK TOURNAMENT
Willows 67, Wheatland 48
Shaye Milner scored 17 points and Jackson Hopking finished with nine, but the Pirates fell to Willows in the first round in Colusa.
Wheatland (2-6) will play Corning in the second round today at 5:30 p.m.
New Life Christian 63, Lutheran 5
Sullivan Guy and Tyler Treat each scored 11 points, Jordan Sullivan added 10 and the Crusaders cruised by Lutheran on the road.
With the win, New Life Christian improved to 3-5.

MARTY PASSAGLIA INVITATIONAL
Colusa 60, Wheatland 40
The Lady RedHawks rolled Wheatland in Hamilton to continue their hot start to the season.
Katie Mobley had 20 points with six rebounds, Mattie Myers added 10 points with four rebounds and Colusa improved to 7-1 overall.
Emily Mobley added seven points and 11 rebounds, while Cheyenne Rogers pulled down seven.
Colusa will face Quincy at 11:30 a.m. today.
LINCOLN TOURNAMENT
Marysville 48, Sacramento Waldorf 43
Sophomore Holly Tarr tallied 15 points and 12 rebounds and the Indians battled back from a late deficit to pick up a victory in the opening round of the Lincoln Tournament.
Marysville trailed by six points with 3 minutes remaining before going on a 15-4 run to pull away for the win.
Rosa Gonzalez scored 12 points and Haley Adams and Bayshta Aguila added eight points each for the Indians (8-2), who will play Rio Linda in the second round today at 6:30 p.m.
East Nicolaus 44, Lindhurst 14
Mikaya Rolufs scored 17 points, Darleen Herrin added eight and the Lady Spartans rolled Lindhurst at home.
"My compliments to Lindhurst, despite the score, they played extremely hard," said East Nicolaus coach Bob Wolcott, a coach known for providing multiple perspectives. "If they keep working hard, they will get there."
With the win, East Nicolaus improved to 9-0.
GIRLS SOCCER
Colusa 4, Durham 0
Sandra MacPherson scored a pair of goals and Kaitlyn Lorenzini had a goal and an assist to lead the RedHawks to a nonleague victory over the Trojans at home.
Amii Galvez added a goal and Stephanie Munguia and Samantha Espindola had an assist each in the win for Colusa (4-1).
WRESTLING
Sutter 66, River City 7
The Huskies upped their mark to 6-1 in dual meets by recording 10 pins in a victory over the Raiders at home.
Winning by pin for Sutter was Julian Kim (106 pounds), Cody Jackson (113), Garrett Fulton (120), Zach Bell-Mathews (126), Hunter Minton (132), Alex Ingram (138), Riley Vickner (152), Chase Gildea (182), Danny Bogert (195) and heavyweight Reid Melani.
Abraham Mohsen (145) and Alex Ryan (220) both won by decision.
The Huskies also won the JV match 60-18.
JV BOYS BASKETBALL
Granite Bay 74, River Valley 71
Isaiah Halstead scored 33 points and River Valley took Granite Bay to the final seconds, but fell short.
Gurtej Singh added 17 points, while TJ Dove scored 11 points and pulled down 13 rebounds for River Valley (3-3).
JV GIRLS BASKETBALL
Lindhurst 38, East Nicolaus 30
Sara Sullivan scored seven points and Shelby Miller had six points and a pair of rebounds, but the Spartans (1-5) fell to the Blazers at home.
Lincoln 62, Yuba City 33
Jostyn Bebout and Hannah Heitman scored 11 points each, but the Honkers (4-4) fell to the host Zebras in the first round of the Lincoln Tournament.
Marysville 33, Waldorf 28
Kika Herrera scored 10 points, Casey Weber added eight and the Lady Indians got by Sacramento Waldorf at home.
With the win, Marysville improved to 3-2.
