PREP ROUNDUP: Colusa baseball notches victory
While the recent rain has washed out most of the Mid-Valley sports action the last two days, Colusa High's baseball team was able to squeeze in a game on Wednesday afternoon in Princeton.
Luke Corriea went 2 for 2 and scored twice and fired a complete-game two-hitter to lead the RedHawks to a 6-5 nonleague win over the Eagles.
Corriea struck out six and walked two to record the win for Colusa, which upped its record to 2-2 on the year with the victory.
"I thought for sure we'd get rained out, but it just misted on us the whole game," said Colusa coach Mike West. "They did a great job with the field getting it ready to play."
Shawn Friel and Tyler Martin both smacked doubles in the win for the RedHawks.
